Originally from Ukraine, I now live on the Adriatic coast in Montenegro. I’ve been to over 70 countries so far.
Like a lot of people, I started with budget bus tours — fixed schedule, fixed route, and you’re stuck visiting places that might not interest you at all. Two of those were enough. After that I took planning into my own hands — first driving my own car across Europe, then flying further and renting cars for trips through Iceland and Arctic Scandinavia.
It’s a completely different experience when you choose where to go, what to see, and how long to stay. Travel finally feels alive.
I’ve been working in design since 2003 — print magazines first, then online publications and website management. By 2012, I had moved fully into online projects. Throughout all of that, travel kept pulling me in. Working remotely means it doesn’t matter where you are physically, and over the years I got better and better at combining work with travel. When I saw how quickly AI tools were changing the way people plan trips, I knew I wanted to explore that space properly — and help others stop wasting time on tools that don’t deliver.
That’s why I built aitravel.tools — a site where I test AI travel planners on real routes and share what actually works and what doesn’t.
